Berlin, 28 April 2020 -
TIER Mobility, the leading European provider of micro-mobility solutions, is rolling out the “Commute with TIER” offer to support people who are looking
for safe forms of transport in times of physical distancing and to reduce the risk of overcrowded public transport at peak hours.
Throughout many European countries lockdowns are slowly being lifted. Nevertheless, the recommendations of the health authorities still contain regulations for physical distancing. E.g. in public transport a minimum distance of 1.5 m from other users should be maintained. If this minimum distance cannot be guaranteed due to busses or trains being overcrowded at peak hours, a safe alternative transportation that allows for physical distancing should be used.
With the ‘Commute with TIER’ package, holders of public transport subscriptions who have to commute to work and want to avoid crowds, can receive 40 free unlocks by uploading a picture of their subscription pass on the website tier.app/monthlypass. The 40 unlocks support a normal five-day commute to get to work and back home again for one month.
Lawrence Leuschner, CEO and Co-founder of TIER Mobility, said:
“ We strive to make cities better and we want to do our part in helping our society in getting back to a more normal life. We know that many people prefer to travel by themselves right now, which is where we can perfectly help with our service. As many are facing financial challenges during these times, we are happy to offer discounts to people that have already spent money on public transport passes but still want to get safely from A to B.”
Along the way, TIER will continue its extended safety precautions, following WHO guidelines as well as local policies. A detailed overview about all measures taken by TIER can be found online: tier.app/covid19.
